I was born and raised in Egypt in a Lebanese family. I loved to draw and paint since I was a kid and after finishing high school I joined the Institute of Applied Arts in Giza, Egypt where I graduated in 1950 with a Diploma in Applied Arts.
While working in several advertising agencies in the Middle East, I discovered a contemporary world of expression where the applied art in the shape of cars, home appliances and many other consumer products were used as drawing material to convey a certain message to the general public.
This concept is not new. In the Middle Ages, sculptures, stained glass and fresco were used also to convey messages to the public of this period.
In 1985, I immigrated to the United States where I live with my wife in Sherman Oaks, California.
I have been a U.S. citizen since 1990 and 1 continue to paint as always and create graphically enhanced paintings using computers. I participated in many group and solo exhibitions in the U.S. including few in Lebanon and Egypt.
